Deputy Rector Administration - Alhaji Yinka Ibrahim

Alhaji Yinka Ibrahim was born on September 22nd, 1952 in Ilorin East Local Government Area of Kwara State.

His secondary school education started at Government Secondary School, Ilorin between 1956 to1965 and Government College, Kaduna, between 1967 to 1969.

His tertiary education was at Kaduna Polytechnic, Kaduna, between 1970 and 1972. Alhaji Yinka Ibrahim then proceeded to Kwara State Polytechnic for Higher National Diploma in Marketing between 1976 to 1978. Not done with his academic achievements, he proceeded to Ohio University, Athens, Ohio, U.S.A. for his Master of Administration and Post Graduate Degree in Public Administration between 1982 and 1984.

In what looks like a home-coming, Alhaji Olayinka started his career at the Kwara Investment Corporation, Ilorin as an Executive Officer (Account) between 1972 and 1976. He has worked as a Supplies Officer at the Nigerian Army Corps Supply and Transport, Lagos between 1978 and 1979, during his National Youth Service Corp (NYSC).

Olayinka has also worked in various sectors of the Nigerian economy such as Midland Supplies Limited, Ilorin between 1986 to 1985, Sabson Management Consultants Limited, Ilorin between 1986 and 1987.

He joined the service of Kwara State Polytechnic in 1984 as a Lecturer III. He has held various positions within and outside the Kwara State Polytechnic. These include Treasurer; Examination Officer; Member, Curriculum Development Committee; Chairman, Research and Publications Committee all at Marketing, Purchasing and Supply Department. He was also Assistant Chief Examinations Officer, Institute of Management and Vocations; Chief Examinations Officer, IBVS; Director IBVS; Deputy Rector, Academic; Deputy Rector Administration; Chairman Committee for Establishment/Launching of the Weekend Herald;  Member, Board of Kwara State Printing and Publishing Corporation (KPPC) Ilorin and a host of others too numerous to mention.

PROFESSIONAL BODIES
Olayinka is a member various professional bodies such as Associate Member, Nigeria Institute of Management (AMNIM), Fellow, National Institute of Marketing of Nigeria (FNIMN) among others.

AWARDS AND DISTINCTIONS
In 1960, Olayinka Ibrahim won the best student in Geography at the Government Secondary School, Ilorin. He won the Dean’s Award at the Ohio University in 1982. in 1998, he was issued letter of commendation for providing purposeful academic and administrative leadership for the Department of Public Accounting and Auditing as the pioneer head of department.

Olayinka is an author of many articles such as Management of Personnel in the Federal Public Service, Public/Government Budgeting in Nigeria: An Explanation, Leadership styles in the Management of Organizations, Environmental Degradation in Urban Centres: Marketing as a Panacea, and others.

He has authored several books such as Marketing Financial Services, International Marketing, Principles and Practice of Management, Marketing Management, and a host of others.

Alhaji Olayinka Ibrahim is the current Acting Rector, Kwara State Polytechnic. He is married with children.
He speaks Yoruba, English and Hausa fluently.
