Entry Requirements

A. Post Graduate Diploma Programme

  1. Applicants will be required to possess a Higher National Diploma from a recognized Polytechnic or a good honours degree from recognized University.
  2. Minimum of 5 credits including English Language and Mathematics.(A pass in Mathematics is acceptable for Public Administration and Public Relations)
  3. Satisfactory completion of the one year National Youth Service Corps (or NYSC Exemption Certificate)

B. Higher National Diploma (HND) Programmes

Applicants for admission into 2 Sessions (Full Time) and 3 Sessions (Part Time) will be required to have:

  • National Diploma (ND) with a minimum of Lower Credit in the field of interest and (5) relevant Credit passes at SSCE, GCE, NECO, NABTEB, or their equivalent.
  • A minimum of one year Post ND Cognate experience (Industrial Training).
  • Applicants with pass classification in the ND will be required to have at least two (2) years Post National Diploma Industrial experience.
  • In Office Technology and Management, preference will be given to candidate with good grades in skill subjects such as Shorthand; Keyboarding and Computer Science.
  • In Agricultural Engineering Technology (Post – Harvest Technology Options), applicants are required to have at least Lower Credit level pass at National Diploma (ND) programme in any of the following:
  • Agricultural Engineering Technology (AET)
  • Agricultural Technology (AGT)
  • Food Science Technology (FST)
  • For Metallurgical Engineering Technology, applicants must have at least Lower Credit level pass at National Diploma (ND) programme in metallurgical Engineering or Foundry Technology / Welding & Fabrication.
  • For Mining Engineering Technology, applicants must have at least Lower Credit level pass at the National Diploma (ND) programme in Mineral Resources Engineering Technology. Candidate with ND Computer Engineering are not admissible into HND Elect / Elect.

C. National Diploma (ND) Progammes (PART TIME)

  • Applicants for admission into the 3 sessions Part – Time National Diploma (ND) programme will be required to have a minimum of five (5) Credits at not more than two (2) sittings in the relevant subjects. NABTEB Certificate is also acceptable for admission.
  • Credit pass in Mathematics compulsory for all applicants seeking admission into any programme in the Polytechnic.
  • Applicants seeking admission into the Institutes or Basic and Applied Sciences. Institute of Technology & Institute of Environmental Studies are required to have five (5) credits including English Language or a minimum of pass grade in English Language, except Estate Management where Credit pass in English is required. For Computer Science, applicants are required to have at least a Credit pass in Physics.
  • For National Diploma (ND) Public Administration, a Credit pass in a Science subject is required.
  • Pre – National Diploma Science Programme: Applicants seeking admission into the programme must have at least five (5) passes in SSCE / GCE / NECO / NABTEB / FEDCRAFT CERTIFICATE or its equivalent which must include English Language and Mathematics at not more than two sittings.

METHOD OF APPLICATION
Application for Admission is to be done online.
All candidates are to note the following instructions while processing their admission:

  • Please note that it is compulsory for every applicant into the 2009 / 2010 Pre-ND Programme to write the 2010 JAMB MPCE Examination.
  •  Candidates are advised to read the admission requirements for their programme of study before completing the online Application Form as the School will not be liable for their negligence.
  • Candidates are advised  to ensure that they personally not by proxy fill in appropriate information as it has to do with the arrangement of names, examination grades, examination number, examination year and the exact Industrial Training (I.T) date (HND only).
  • Candidates are advised to safe-keep their Scratch Cards as any loss will not attract the refund of the fee attached to the Card.
  • Change of Course after the payment of acceptance fee is not allowed.
  • Candidates are to frequently check the School website for confirmation of the date of Post Screening Examination.
