Institute of Basic and Applied SciencesThe Institute of Basic and Applied Science, Formerly Known as the School of Basic Studies (SBC) was created in 1973 which later metamorphosed into the then Kwara State College of Technology, now Kwara State Polytechnic. Basically, the Institute is headed by a Director. It offers three main courses both at the National Diploma (ND) and the Higher National Diploma (HND) levels, running full time and part-time programmes. The departments, being headed by the Head of Department (HOD) are: - Computer Science
- Maths/Statistics
- Science Laboratory Technology.
The following departments are also the segments of the Institute: - Biology Department
- Chemistry Department
- Geography Department
- Physics Department
The Institute also runs Post-Graduate Diploma in Rural Development Statistics, Industrial Mathematics and Social Statistics with Demography. The present Director, Dr. F.A.J. Bello is the 12th Director of the institute.
